GenY has been found to have a much higher consumption of streaming video services than older individuals. Research from Knowledge Networks revealed 56 % of people aged 13 to 31 years old watch online TV or other forms of streaming media at least once a week (twice as many as among Baby Boomers), while they watch content via mobile devices four times more regularly than boomers. Overall, Web video is on the rise. Online streaming video rental subscriptions like Netflix have doubled in just a year and GenY in particular is thus increasingly turning their backs on traditional TV. The online study was conducted in June 2011 among 1,013 members (see pressrelease).
